PocketBible for Android v1.2.0

Posted on: June 10th, 2014 by Michelle Stramel 14 Comments

PocketBible for Android version 1.2.0 has been released to the Google Play Store. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, you should be automatically updated. If you are using a Kindle Fire (or other non-Google Play device), you can download the latest version by browsing to http://lpb.cc/android while on your device.

The major new feature in this version is the ability to add notes to Bible verses. If you have previously taken notes with other versions of PocketBible, these can now be synchronized to your Android OS device. Your data must first be synced from the other devices to the Laridian Cloud. Version 1.2.0 also includes a fix for an SD card storage issue which popped up in the latest version of Android (4.4+ – kitkat).

You can see the new note-taking feature in action here:

Many thanks for the Notes version – it is absolutely a delight! What is great and unexpected is that the Bible references in my notes are automatically hyperlinked on my device.
However, there are still no hyperlinks when I access them on the Windows 8.1 version. Any advice on how I get the auto hyperlinks to work on Win8.1? Thanks again and God bless.

K.K., that feature is on our request list for Windows Phone/Store but not available yet.

Hi Michelle, I found a solution for the time being while Laridian work on the Win Store version. When I edit a note on my Android phone, and sync it, the note will appear in my Win Store version with all the Bible references already tagged. I am very pleased with having my notes appearing the same way in both devices. Thought I will pass this information to help others in the same situation.

    Yay. Thank you so much.

I’ve waited so long for this! 10 year user, with 10 years worth of notes inaccessible on mobile since I switched to Android 18 months ago.
Unfortunately it’s not over yet. Notes don’t seem to work on either of my Android devices
HTC Sensation 710e phone on 4.0.3. Pressing Notes button closes app with error Pocket Bible has Stopped. Tried many times, also uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled. Data is shown as having synced OK. All other features seem OK so far.
ASUS ME173X tablet on 4.2.2. Notes button is missing from left hand menu, as have Highlights and Bookmarks buttons. Version confirmed as 1.2.0 build 86. Again data shows as synced, and all other features seem OK.
The video of the new Notes looks so much better, if I can only get it to work!

Stuart, you should be getting a log file, errorlog.log in the PocketBible folder on each device. If you could send this to our support team at support@laridian.com, we’ll look into it.

Great to have notes – thanks so much!
Sadly I get an error on my little Samsung after I’ve saved a note – will send you the log file.
Not yet tried on my Nexus 7.
But it’s still a great boost – got lots of years of notes in my pocket now. THANKS.

Paul, we have had a few others with similar issues and we’re looking into it.
