We have released the Zondervan Expositor’s Bible Commentary: New Testament for use with PocketBible for iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, Windows PC and MyBible for Palm OS.

As the name suggests, this commentary focuses on providing pastors and Bible students with a comprehensive and scholarly tool for the exposition of the Scriptures. Over the years, it has become a staple of seminary and college libraries and pastors’ studies worldwide. The New International Version (NIV) of the Bible (sold separately) provides the basis for the comments, but authors also refer freely to other translations and to the original languages.

The Expositor’s Bible Commentary: New Testament sells for $79.99.

Clarification please. The original Expositor’s Bible Commentary was a 12-volume set published in the 1980s I believe. In 1999 Barker and Kolenberger did a 2-volume abridged version called the Zondervan NIV Commentary. This was updated in 2004 as the Expositor’s Bible Commentary – Abridged Version.

Is this book you are offering the abridged version, or does it contain the NT volumes of the original 12-volume set?

  2. Hi Bruce, this product comprises the NT volumes that were in the original 12 volume set — so unabridged.

Thanks. That’s good to hear. However, the abridged versions are good, too.

I just bought the new Cornerstone volumes, so I may have wait a little while on this one. But this will give Laridian two good, modern, heavy-weight commentary sets once you publish the Expositor’s OT volume(s) and the rest of the Cornestone volumes. These will help fill the void in OT commentaries.
